CQM1
The CQM1 is a compact and high-speed Programmable Controller (PC) manufactured by Omron. It is designed for advanced control operations in systems requiring 16 to 256 I/O points per PC. The CQM1 consists of a Power Supply Unit, a CPU Unit, and I/O Units, which connect at the sides to form a single PC mounted on a DIN track. One of the key features of the CQM1 series is its speed, being approximately 20 times faster than P-type PCs. It provides 16 built-in input terminals, and additional I/O Units can be added to expand the I/O capacity. The CQM1 offers high-speed timers and counters, with outputs processed directly when instructions are executed. The CQM1 supports three types of interrupts: input interrupts for processing short input signals, scheduled interrupts using a high-speed interval timer, and high-speed counter interrupts for applications such as motor control. It also features a pulse output function for generating pulses and a peripheral port and an RS-232C port for communication with external devices. Convenient I/O instructions simplify programming, including ten-key input, hexadecimal key input, digital switch input, and 7-segment display output instructions. The CQM1-CPU42-EV1 variant provides volume controls with four channels for adjusting analog settings. The CQM1 incorporates macros, allowing for the execution of subroutines with designated I/O word arguments, enabling easier reuse of subroutines in different locations. Additionally, it supports differentiation monitoring, indicating when a bit changes from OFF to ON or vice versa, facilitating monitoring of rapidly changing inputs or bits. Overall, the CQM1 series by Omron offers a compact size, high-speed performance, expandable I/O capacity, various communication options, and convenient programming features, making it suitable for advanced control operations in a wide range of industrial automation applications.
