IC697PWR710 GE Fanuc PLC Training Wiring 90-70 Power Supply Lights Diagnostics Test & Troubleshoot

Introduction: GE Fanuc IC697PWR710 Troubleshooting Guide

This troubleshooting guide is a test of a GE Fanuc IC697PWR710 90-70 Power Supply and this is a very simple test, very quick test. In order to run this test you should always make sure that you have a CPU in the rack so that you’re sure that the power supply is able to power the rack. If you can’t get power through the back to the other slots then even if the power supply turns on then that’s still a problem.

Illustrated here is an IC697CPX935 which is being used for arguments sake, and an IC697CHS750 5 slot rack which is empty otherwise. So, what you are going to do is take a typical power cord, it’s just a standard 120V plug-in power cord.

Below are the connections. The black wire is black or hot load one. Load two or neutral, that’s the white wire and there is the jumper in place.

Okay, so now you are place this in rack and plug the power supply into my power strip.

So, the first LED you are looking for to be green of course is the power supply itself and then power is able to go to the CPX so you know that you are able to get power from the power supply to the rack. Make sure that you always have a CPU in there, some kind of a processor.
Another thing is, if you do turn the power supply on and you don’t get an LED on you don’t get any power you know that it’s not working. The first thing that you want to check of course is the fuse, not always the problem but occasionally it is.
If it’s still not working then see links below to parts, service and help.
