How To Troubleshoot GE Fanuc IC693CPU341

Introduction:GE Fanuc IC693CPU341 Troubleshooting Guide

You’ll be testing a 90-30 processor, the CPU341. part number here, IC693CPU341. Note that the revision letter does not matter for this purpose because it is going to be the same for all of them.

Step 1: Place Processor in Rack

Place the processor in an empty five slot rack, a IC693CHS397. The processor is next to a high capacity power supply, a IC693PWR330. No go ahead and power that up and the first thing you’re going to look for is that you have a solid OK light, not a blinking light and not a blank LED. If the light is not on you can stop the test right there because there is something that needs repair.

Step 2: Get Processor into Run Mode

Next thing you’re going to do is go into the software and configure and download and get the processor into run mode. What you are looking for is to make sure that you have an empty rack and all empty slots so that when you do try to turn it on you do not have any errors or any missing modules.

Step 3: Check that Run Light is Green, Solid

The CPU is in Run mode. Note that there is no key on this CPU so it’s going to automatically go into run mode as soon as it’s able to turn on the outputs.

Step 4: Additional Steps if Necessary

If this processor is still giving you a problem or you think it’s the processor then leave it running over night or over a weekend and when you come back the processor, after 24 hours or more, should still be in run mode.
If for some reason it kicks itself out of Run and the green run LED is off go into your software under Target and go into Diagnostics. The diagnostics will illustrate exactly what happened there.
