With Demand Rising, Tesla Forced to Halt Production Temporarily to Install More Robotics

Tesla’s Model S electric luxury sedan is selling so well the company can’t keep up with the orders at the moment.

In order to meet the crazy demand for the company’s first mass produced battery electric vehicle (BEV), Tesla has halted factory production for two weeks in order to install more robotics and other equipment to speed up production efficiency for the Model S.

Currently, Tesla can produce just under 800 cars a week but with the announcement of another vehicle, the Model X, set for release next spring, it was intricate the company got more robotics on the factory floor pronto.

Tesla spokesman Simon Sproule said, “It gets us ready to build X and to do it on the same line as the S.”
