Korean Baseball Team Introduces a Robot Cheering Section
We’ve all had that time when we couldn’t make it to the game at the last second… It’s a miserable feeling but for whatever reason something comes up and there has to be a change of plans.
Korea’s Hanwha Eagles have introduced a way for a robot to take your place at the ballpark, in fact a whole section of robots in their home stadium!
Fans have the ability to upload mannerisms, avatars, cheers, beer preferences, among other things to their robot representatives for a virtual ballpark experience.
Supporters of the eagles can literally text in messages for the Fanbots and they will hold up the message in their robot section!
While it is a little bit creepy, it also represent how far robotics and technology have come over the past few years.
