GE / IP FANUC Series 90/30 In Stock
German engineering firm, EDAG, have figured out how to 3-D print full-size car components, something that could revolutionize the manufacturing of automobiles.
EDAG’s robot built their EDAG Genesis car concept by creating a thermoplastic model of the interior and they foresee using steel or aluminum for the exterior frame.
The major advancement in EDAG’s design is the fact that they have proven it is feasible to print large parts rather than tiny parts that have to be assembled in a tedious fashion.
This kind of printing is probably a few years away due to cost and the need for further research, but EDAG’s latest design is sure to create a buzz and bring us closer to making 3-D printed cars a reality.
