Think flight not sink and swim. This is this biggest difference when comparing DeepFlight to a regular submarine.
By completely redesigning the concept of a submersible and applying the principles and dynamics of flight, DeepFlight Hydrobatic Craft are faster, lighter, inherently safer, and have a more inspiring design than any recreational submersible ever conceived. The underwater world, which has been inaccessible for so long, can finally be opened up to private exploration and recreation at significant scale.
DeepFlight has completely redesigned the submersible concept by applying the principles and dynamics of flights to their recreational underwater vehicles. DeepFlight is a buoyant craft that uses propulsion, speed and wing profiles to submerge. This method of submersion is inherently safer than traditional submersion methods, if engine power is lost the craft will simply float to the surface.
Ocean engineer, Graham Hawkes founded DeepFlight in 1996 with goal utilizing the principles of lift and drag, rather than buoyancy and displacement of traditional submersibles in order to increase human access to the oceans.
