This Automated Oil Rig Is a Major Technological Advancement In Fracking!
Schramm Inc, notable for the drilling rig that rescued 33 trapped Chilean copper miners years ago, has designed a new automated oil rig that could revolutionize fracking.
The T500XD rig from Schramm weighs 500,000 pounds but has no problems rotating 360 degrees, walking, and automatically loading pipe through operation with a remote control.
While some people worry the T500XD could potentially cut oilfield jobs, many people see the new rig as a major technological advancement in fracking and something that will greatly increase work efficiency.
Not to mention, the rig was designed with a new generation of oilfield workers in mind, those who grew up on video games, and because of this the T500XD features joysticks and touchscreens for easy operation.
Schramm’s president Ed Breiner says, “We designed the rig to have lots of automation and to be simpler to run. That means less fatigue and fewer injuries for oilfield workers.”
