Gold Fish Can Now Drive Cars! Something Sounds A Little Fishy
An image recognition company, from the Netherlands, by the name of Studio dipp, has developed a new project. The name of the project is “Fish on Wheels”. A robot car is maneuvered by a fish in the mobile tank. The device uses a camera and computer viewing software. The fish is able to steer the tank by swimming in the direction of an object of interest.

A camera is placed on the top of the tank. Images are processed by a Beagle board that uses the information to steer the carriage by an Arduino-control under the bowl. Fish can follow objects outside the tank. The designers are hoping the project makes appearances outside the lab. There has been no price set or release date listed.
This invention might make studying the behavior and nature of fish possible. The go-cart style allows fish to travel on their own. Fish are no longer limited to the confines of a stationery aquarium or fish tank. This device changes the outlook of having a gold fish as a pet. The mobile tank may not increase the reputed short life span of the fish. However, it no longer has to assume its wallflower quality.
