In the food and agricultural sectors. Fujitsu has created a production management system that will produce and sell fruit and vegetables grown in “plan factories”. The suite of services is called “Akisai Food & Agricultural Cloud” and helps food producers raise profitability and efficiency through enhanced agricultural management, including automated open-air farming, greenhouse cultivation and animal husbandry.

Like all automation, Fujitsu’s suite of services help operators better leverage data and create a supply chain from farming and production to shipping, ordering, inventory management, and more.
In short, any food or agricultural operation can be managed remotely from Tokyo or the other side of the world, allowing operators to collect information on an entire operation using sensors and to tweak the operation of sprinklers, fans and heaters to create the best environment in which to grow.
The end result is more efficient operations and better quality output of fruit and vegetables, something that is a rare commodity.
