The CJ1W-EIP21 Ethernet/IP Unit manufactured by Omron is a versatile communication module designed to enhance the networking capabilities of CJ-series PLCs. It is equipped with a 100Base-TX interface, enabling efficient and high-speed data exchange in industrial environments. The CPU unit allocates 25 words per unit in the CIO area and 100 words per unit in the DM area, providing ample memory for various control and data storage purposes. With flexible mounting options available in the CPU or expansion rack of CJ-series PLCs, the CJ1W-EIP21 Unit offers adaptability in system configuration. It seamlessly integrates with CJ2H-CPU and CJ2M CPU units, expanding connectivity options for a wide range of applications. The allocated CIO area is dedicated to controlling bits, flags, operating and error information, unit and communication status, as well as FINS/TCP connection status. The allocated DM area is utilized for storage of IP address display and setting information. The unit's non-volatile memory stores critical communication settings, including IP address, DNS server settings, hostname, baud rate, FINS/UDP settings, and FINS/TCP settings. The CJ1W-EIP21 Unit utilizes the CSMA/CD media access method and operates at a baud rate of 100 Mbit/s (100Base-TX). It supports shielded twisted-pair (STP) cable for transmission, ensuring reliable communication over distances of up to 100 meters between the hub and node. The transmission path follows a star form. With its compact dimensions of 31 × 90 × 65 mm (W × H × D) and a maximum weight of 94 g, the CJ1W-EIP21 Unit is easy to install and integrate into existing systems. It has a current consumption (Unit) of 410 mA at 5 V DC, making it an efficient and practical solution for expanding the networking capabilities of CJ-series PLCs.
