Omron created the SRT2-ID16, a digital input module with 16 input points and 24 volts DC input power with a maximum input current rating of 6 milliamps (mA) per point. This module contains a three-tier sensor connector and a short cycle time of less than one millisecond per 256 I/O points, making it perfect for applications that demand quick response times. It employs the CompoBus/S communication protocol, a straightforward and fast method of connecting I/O modules to Omron PLCs. The SRT2-ID16 is offered in two configurations: transistor and relay. The transistor model is intended for use when the input signal is a low-current signal, such as a limit switch or a proximity sensor. The relay model is intended for use in applications where the input signal is a high-current signal, such as a solenoid valve or a motor starter. Without the use of software, the SRT2-ID16 can be simply programmed. The module's jumpers are used to configure it. The users can change the input type (normally open or normally closed), input voltage, and communication mode using the jumpers. The SRT2-ID16 digital input module is a versatile and dependable digital input module that may be utilized in various industrial applications. This SRT2-ID16 digital input module has a working temperature range of -10 to 55 degrees Celsius, and the recommended temperature range for storing this device is -20 to 70 degrees Celsius. It is suited for applications that require quick reaction times and simple configuration. Its applications include factory automation, machine control, process control, building automation, medical devices, transportation, and retail, among others.
