Omron's NT20M-LK203-EV1 interface unit is a crucial part in a SYSMAC WAY communication system. It supports direct connections between a PC (programmable controller) and a PT (programmable terminal). Its principal function is to allow the PC to communicate with the PT, allowing the PC to direct the PT's actions by writing commands to the DM (Data Memory) area of the PC. There is no need for separate communications software if the NT20M-LK203-EV1 is implemented. The NT20M-LK203-EV1 interface unit is backwards-compatible with the CV-series of computers, mini H-type computers (when connected directly to the CPU), and other C-series computers (when linked to a host link unit) in Omron programmable controllers. In order to maintain constant connection and precise control, the interface unit routinely pulls information from the PC's DM area and stores it in the PT. In order for the NT20M-LK203-EV1 to work, a dedicated System ROM is needed. The NT20M-LK203-EV1 is lightweight and small. It weighs 0.10 kg, and it measures 3 mm in height, 9 mm in length, and 10 mm in width. Depending on the model of the host link unit (such as the C200H-LK101-P, C500H-LK103-P, C200H-LK201/202, or C500H-LK103/203 models), an optical fiber cable or a multi-conductor wire cable can be used to link the NT20M-LK203-EV1 interface unit to the PT. The NT20M-LK203-EV1 interface unit also allows the NT20M and NT-series support tool to share screen data through the RS-232C interface. The NT20M-LK203-EV1 interface unit guarantees dependable and effective communication between the PC and PT in a variety of industrial applications, and it can be configured for specific applications with DIP switches.
