The Omron DRT2-ID16-1 slave module is a remote I/O terminal type of general-purpose DeviceNet slave module that is part of the Omron DRT2 Series. It was developed with the intention of improving communication and signal processing capabilities in industrial programmable controllers. This unit has sixteen inputs, which makes it easy to implement in a variety of control and data collection applications. It is able to operate effectively with a voltage range of 11 to 25 Volts DC from the communications power supply. This module requires an external power supply for its I/O power supply. The DRT2-ID16-1 slave module uses the DeviceNet communication protocol, which is a standard communication protocol for industrial networks. This protocol ensures communication that is both quick and reliable. The DRT2-ID16-1 slave module supports 3 different communication speeds: 125 kbps, 250 kbps, and 500 kbps. This provides the flexibility necessary to meet individualized network requirements and enhance overall system performance. Because of its small size, the DRT2-ID16-1 module may be easily integrated into preexisting programmable controller systems, which frees up important space in industrial control cabinets. This slave module was designed to be mounted on a DIN track. LED indicators are used to indicate the condition of each input and to indicate the DeviceNet communication status of the DRT2-ID16-1 slave module. These indicators make real-time system monitoring and troubleshooting possible. The Omron DRT2-ID16-1 slave module consumes 60 milliamps of maximum communications current when it operates. The DRT2-ID16-1 module’s ON delay time and OFF delay time ratings are both 1.5 milliseconds maximum.
