The CS1W-PTS02 is a specialized I/O unit designed for use with the CS Series Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) by Omron Automation. This unit provides accurate temperature measurement and monitoring capabilities using resistance thermometer sensors. The CS1W-PTS02 unit can be mounted in the CS-Series CPU Rack or CS-Series Expansion Rack, ensuring compatibility with the PLC system. It is important to note that it cannot be mounted on the C200H Expansion I/O Rack or SYSMAC BUS Remote I/O Slave Rack. With a maximum capacity of 80 units, the CS1W-PTS02 offers flexibility in system configuration. However, the number of units must remain within the allowable current consumption and power consumption range. Each unit is assigned a unique number ranging from 00 to 95, avoiding duplication among Special I/O Units. The data exchange between the CPU Unit and this unit occurs through two main areas: the Special I/O Unit Area and the DM Area. The Special I/O Unit Area allows for exchanging 10 words per unit and handles various process values such as temperature readings, alarms (low/low-low, high/high-high), rate-of-change values, disconnection alarms, and cold junction sensor errors. The DM Area provides 100 words per unit specifically allocated to Special I/O Units. In this area, the CPU Unit can communicate information to the Resistance Thermometer Input Unit, including temperature sensor type, user-set input range, scaling of process value data for storage in the CIO area, number of items for moving average, alarm settings, and zero/span adjustment values. Overall, the CS1W-PTS02 offers precise temperature measurement and integration with the overall control and monitoring processes.
