Omron engineered this CS1G-CPU42H as a model of the CS1G series central processing unit (CPU) for the CS1 series programmable logic controllers that are designed to facilitate expansion with additional CS1 series I/O modules. These modules can be added to the system to support a variety of input and output devices. This processor unit has built-in redundancy choices for greater system reliability; it provides automatic switchover in the event of a failure, ensuring the control system's uninterrupted operation. This CS1G-CPU42H has FLASH memory with a memory size of 40kByte. For communicating with other devices and systems, the CPU supports a variety of communication methods. It usually has serial ports built in for connection to HMI panels, PCs, or other PLCs. Some versions may also include Ethernet or Fieldbus connections for networked communication. The CS1G-CPU42H CPU is intended for expansion with additional CS1 series I/O modules. These modules can be added to the system to support a variety of input and output devices. It has up to 256 addressable analog I/O points and 960 addressable digital I/O points. The CS1G-CPU42H supports up to two expansion module racks and provides a user-friendly development environment. It can control up to 960 points with units put on the CPU rack, and it includes improved refresh performance for data lines, remote I/O communications, and protocol macros. This CPU unit has a processing time of 0.04ms for 1K Binary Operations; the CS1 series PLCs are designed to provide quick processing capabilities for real-time control. They have fast scan times and sophisticated instruction sets to perform complex logic and time-critical activities.
