Omron made the CQM1H-CPU61 a programmable controllers CPU unit that is a part of the CQM1H series featuring a compact and modular design, making it suited for a variety of applications involving industrial automation; it has a capacity for 30K steps in its program, 16 digital inputs, accessible option cards, and 12K words worth of data storage. This series of modules offers a choice of CPU units, expansion modules, and accessories for enabling flexibility and scalability when designing a PLC system. One of the modules in this series is the CQM1H-CPU61, which is manufactured by CQM1H and supports external connectors. It also offers the most versatility of any PLC system in its class. It allows users to design individual control systems by adding "inner boards" for additional operations and specific I/O and communications modules. It has 16 built-in DC inputs, is expandable up to 512 points, and its inner boards allow "customized" CPU configuration; its four models of CPUs can be broadly divided into two groups, the models which incorporate inner boards and the ControllerLink unit, and models that do not; the CPUs also differ in their program capacities, I/O capacities, memory capacities, and the presence or absence of an RS-232C port. In addition, the devices in this series use a serial communications inner board equipped with a protocol macro capability to facilitate communication with serial devices manufactured by a third party. Furthermore, the series incorporates all currently available and newly developed CQM1 I/O and specialty I/O modules.
