Omron Automation and Safety's CQM1-TC204 temperature control module was developed for reliable temperature regulation in commercial and industrial settings. This DIN Rail-mounted module's cutting-edge capabilities include PID control with feed-forward circuitry and two degrees of freedom for improved control precision. It's versatile because of its two control loops, each of which may be set to ON/OFF, sophisticated PID control, or manual operation. The 2-loop version of the module includes a heater burnout alert in addition to the thermocouple input and transistor output found on the 1-loop version. Control outputs have short-circuit safety and are available in NPN or PNP variants. The maximum output current is 100 mA, and the power supply operates at 24 VDC. Control mode and parameters such as hysteresis adjustment, proportional band, derivative time, control period, and input shift value may be simply adjusted and seen. With a temperature range accuracy of 0.3% or 1°C/2°F (whichever is greater), plus an extra 1 digit maximum, the CQM1-TC204 provides precise setup and display for both Celsius and Fahrenheit. Module performance allows for quick and responsive temperature management with a sampling rate of 0.5 seconds and an output refresh time of the same length. Its maximum current consumption is only 190 mA @ 5 VDC; therefore, it uses power sparingly. Additionally, the CQM1-TC204 allows for accurate heater current monitoring (5% FS 1 digit) and provides a heater burnout alarm option for early problem diagnosis. The shortest ON time for detection is 200 ms, and the module can handle a maximum heater current of 50 A for single-phase AC systems. The CQM1-TC204's efficient and accurate temperature management for a variety of uses makes it an indispensable part of industrial automation systems.
