The Omron CQM1-B7A01 interface unit is an advanced interface unit for Omron PLCs. When it is installed in an Omron PLC, it is connected to the PLC’s CPU. The CQM1-B7A01 interface unit has 32 I/O points that are divided into 16 inputs and 16 outputs. The PLC CPU that the CQM1-B7A01 interface unit is connected to will treat the interface unit as its equivalent number of points, i.e. as 32 I/O points. Its transmission delay time option is a standard transmission delay time option with a rating of 19.2 milliseconds. This transmission delay time feature allows the CQM1-B7A01 interface unit to handle transmission errors at its inputs or outputs safely and without creating a large-scale disruption in an application. The CQM1-B7A01 interface unit can process data about a transmission error when an error occurs, and it has a “hold” type of error processing option. This “hold” option allows the CQM1-B7A01 interface unit to hold its input bit status rating at the value that it had immediately before the error occurred. The CQM1-B7A01 interface terminal can be connected to compatible Omron B7A link terminals. It is compatible with 16-point input link terminals and with 16-point output link terminals. The CQM1-B7A01 interface unit can also connect to an external 12/24 VDC power supply so that it can support transmissions with the link terminals that it hosts. This interface also has LEDs on its front panel that indicate when it is powered on and when errors have occurred. The CQM1-B7A01 interface unit expands the capabilities of its host system by connecting to input and output devices.
