The Omron CJ1W-SRM21 device is a master unit that can control a large number of slave devices and a large number of I/O points. This master unit is a CompoBus/S master unit because it uses a special type of CompoBus/S protocol for communications. The CJ1W-SRM21 unit can operate in a high-speed communications mode and in a long-distance communications mode. In the high-speed mode, its baud rate is 750 kbps. In the long-distance mode, the CJ1W-SRM21 unit's baud rate is 93.75 kbps. The CJ1W-SRM21 unit's long-distance communication mode's maximum distance rating is 500 meters. This master unit can support free wiring with any type of branching method for lengths of up to 200 meters when it is operating in its long-distance mode. The CJ1W-SRM21 unit supports a variety of remote input and remote output terminals. It can also support analog input and output terminals and sensor terminals such as proximity sensors and photoelectric sensors. The CJ1W-SRM21 unit can be connected to a maximum of 256 I/O points and a maximum of 32 slave devices at a time in a system. It supports applications that involve Remote I/O communication. The CJ1W-SRM21 unit has rotary switches and a set of DIP switches. The users of the CJ1W-SRM21 unit can use the DIP switches to set or adjust the master unit’s functions. Its internal current consumption rating is 150 mA maximum at 5V DC. The CJ1W-SRM21 master unit comes with a connector and it weighs 66 grams maximum with its connector.
