The C500-CT012 counter unit is a high-speed counter unit that was manufactured by Omron. This high-speed counter is a C500 series counter unit. It is used in Omron C500 programmable controllers. An Omron C500 programmable controller has several components, including a servo motor, analog output units, analog input units, platforms, servo controllers, and a C500-CT012 high-speed counter unit. A C500 programmable controller can support additional components such as encoders and sensors. The C500-CT012 unit is known as a high-speed unit because it can perform its counter functions very quickly. It supports speed and accuracy when it is used to provide counter functions for a programmable controller. When the C500-CT012 high-speed counter unit is installed in a programmable controller, it is located near the controller’s analog input and output units. If the system has an encoder, the encoder sends locating pulses to the C500-CT012 high-speed counter unit when the system is in operation. To operate properly, the C500-CT012 counter and the programmable controller as a whole need to be installed properly, and they need to be installed and used only in specified locations that meet the manufacturer’s requirements. The C500-CT012 counter should not be installed or removed when power is supplied to the system. This high-speed counter is designed for environments that have relative humidity ratings between 10 and 90% and that do not experience condensation. Condensation and other sources of moisture or liquids may damage the C500-CT012 high-speed counter. The C500-CT012 counter also should not be operated in a location that experiences ambient temperatures below freezing, or temperatures higher than 55 degrees Celsius.
