The Omron C200HE-CPU42 CPU module is a standard type of CPU module from the Omron C series and the C200HE product line of programmable controller system components. This CPU module handles a variety of essential functions for the programmable controller system that it is installed in. The C200HE-CPU42 CPU module can receive data through input devices and send signals and data out through output devices. This CPU module supports up to 880 input and output points in a programmable controller system. It also comes with a built-in RS-232C port. The C200HE-CPU42 CPU module has a built-in clock function, a 7.2K word UM capacity, and a 6K word DM capacity. The C200HE-CPU42 CPU module is meant to be installed in the CPU rack in the host programmable controller system. The CPU rack includes a CPU module, a CPU I/O backplane, and a power supply unit, and it can also include memory cassettes and communication boards if additional memory or communication options are required. The C200HE-CPU42 CPU module is compatible with 3-slot CPU I/O backplanes, 5-slot CPU I/O backplanes, 8-slot I/O backplanes, and with 10-slot I/O backplanes. The more slots a CPU I/O backplane has, the more I/O modules it can support in addition to the CPU module and the power supply module. The CPU I/O backplanes can also support blank or slot filler modules to protect unused slots from dust and moisture. The C200HE-CPU42 CPU module can support a Host Link function and an NT Link function for communication.
