The C200H-MD501 I/O unit made by Omron as a high-density type of special I/O module. It can be installed and used in Omron C200H programmable controller or PC systems. The C200H-MD501 I/O unit has a DIP switch on its back panel that the operators can use to set it up. The pins of the DIP switch correspond to different functions and options for the C200H-MD501 I/O unit. When Pin 1 of the DIP switch is turned on, the C200H-MD501 unit can operate with 128 dynamic inputs. When Pin 1 is turned off, the unit can operate with 16 inputs and 16 outputs. When Pin 2 of the DIP switch is turned on and Pin 1 is turned off, the C200H-MD501 unit can operate with 8 of its 16 inputs (inputs 08 to 15) as high-speed inputs. Additionally, the C200H-MD501 I/O unit can support 4 ms of minimum high-speed pulse width when Pin 3 of the DIP switch is turned on, and it can support 1 ms of minimum high-speed pulse width when Pin 3 is turned off. At 5 Volts DC, the C200H-MD501 I/O unit’s current consumption rating is 0.18 Amps. When this unit operates with 16 inputs and 16 outputs, its outputs are transistor outputs. The C200H-MD501 I/O unit also operates with 5 Volts DC voltage with TTL inputs and with 5 Volts DC voltage with TTL outputs. This unit can be mounted on the CPU rack, on an expansion I/O rack, or on a Remote I/O rack in a C200H system.
