The Omron C200H-CT021 high-speed counter module is a special I/O module created for the C200H, C200HS, C200HX, C200HG, and C200HE PCs. It comes with 2 high-speed increment and decrement counters that may be connected to incremental encoders with open collector output or RS-422 line driver output options. The device is appropriate for applications that demand accurate and quick counting since it can count line driver types of input pulses at a maximum rate of 75,000 cps. Line driver input guarantees noise resistance, enabling the encoder to be connected over lengthy cables or in noisy locations. The C500-AE001 encoder conversion adapter makes it easier to connect encoders as line driver inputs for compatibility with open collector outputs. Numerous applications are made possible by the high-speed counter unit's capabilities for both BCD and hexadecimal counting ranges. It has three functions, which are the drum, preset counter, and counting function, as well as seven operating modes, including the Simple, Linear, Circular, Preset, Gate, Cumulative Gate, and Sampling modes. The device offers versatility in output connections with eight external outputs that may be configured as either NPN or PNP outputs. It accepts three different types of pulse inputs, including offset phase types of inputs, up and down types of pulse inputs, and pulse and direction types of inputs. Even when turned off, the high-speed counter unit keeps its settings, including the current counter values, and it supports modifications at any time. Its technical requirements include input voltage ratings of 12V DC or 24V DC, and an RS-422 line driver option for counter input A, counter input B, and counter input Z, with typical matching input currents of 14 mA for each voltage. The ON voltage varies from 5.6 VDC to 15.2 VDC, while the OFF voltage ranges from 2.4 VDC to 4.8 VDC. Overall, the C200H-CT021 high-speed counter unit provides precise and flexible counting capabilities for industrial applications.
