MELSERVO MR-S
Mitsubishi developed the Melservo MR-S series of servo drives or servo amplifiers to control a variety of servo motors in a variety of applications. These applications include machine tools, robotics, and automated system applications. The MR-S series also includes accessories for servo amplifiers, such as cables. The MR-S servo amplifiers can operate in temperature ranges from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius in environments that do not experience freezing conditions and that do not contain more than 90% relative humidity. The operating environment should also be free of condensation. The MR-S servo amplifiers are designed to be mounted vertically on walls with bolts or screws. These devices need to have free space around them for airflow so that they will not overheat during operation. The MR-S servo amplifiers can be used to control the operating speed, operating torque, or operating position of compatible Mitsubishi servo motors. They can also be connected to optional regenerative units when the regeneration frequency level in a system is high. Servo amplifiers from the MR-S2 product line within the MR-S series support 2 control axes instead of just 1 control axis. All of the MR-S series servo amplifiers are powered by AC voltage. Several of the MR-S2 servo amplifiers operate with 200/220 Volts AC 3-phase input voltage with 50/60 Hertz of rated power line frequency. The MR-S series servo amplifiers can be used in grounded systems for safety. The MR-S servo amplifiers use large capacitors that remain charged for some time after the power is turned off. For safety, operators should not begin maintenance work on MR-S servo amplifiers until their capacitors have completely discharged.
