The QJ71E71-100 is a high performance Ethernet module for Mitsubishi industrial MELSEC-Q PLCs. It supports communication over Ethernet networks between the host system and the programmable controller. The QJ71E71-100 module can modify and collect controller data, control and monitor a CPU’s operating status, and exchange data using the UDP and TCP protocols. The module supports several basic functions. These functions include hosting connections with MELSOFT products and a GOT interface, the collection and modification of CPU module data from connected devices, MC protocol communications, SLMP communications, data communications using predefined protocols, data exchange with connected devices (using fixed and random access buffers), the prevention of unauthorized system access through an IP filter function, the prevention of unauthorized access through remote password, an e-mail function, and data transmission through the web function. It supports 100 Mbps full-duplex and half-duplex data transmission speeds. Flow control is not available for full-duplex communication. Back pressure congestion control is supported for half-duplex communication. The physical interface is an RJ-45 interface. The orientation of the connector on the cable should be checked before it is inserted into the QJ71E71-100 module’s interface. The maximum segment length is 100 meters. The maximum number of simultaneous open connections that the QJ71E71-100 module supports is 16. The module supports 16 fixed 1K word buffers and one 6K word random access buffer. Its internal current consumption rating at 5 Volts DC is 0.5 Amps. The dimensions of the module are 98 x 27.4 x 90 millimeters and its weight is 0.11 kilograms. The module must be protected from strong shocks. The recommended tightening torque for the external power supply terminal screws is 0.4 Nm. The tightening torque range for the module fixing screws is 0.36 to 0.48 Nm.
