The Mitsubishi FX2N-2DA special function block is a function block used for converting digital signals to analog signals. This block converts 12-bit digital signals to analog signals and sends the analog output signals to a PLC. For analog circuits, the external power supply requirements are 24 Volts DC and 85 milliamps. For digital circuits, the power supply requirements are 5 Volts DC and 30 milliamps. Photo-coupler isolation is used between the digital and analog circuits. The FX2N-2DA function block occupies 8 output or input points. Operators can adjust the digital-to-analog conversion characteristics. This function block supports voltage and current output options. Connecting wires are used to select the voltage analog output option or the current analog output option. The possible output voltage ranges are 0 to 10 volts DC or 0 to 5 Volts DC with an external load resistance ranging from 2 kiloohms to 1 Megaohm. For voltage output, the resolution is 2.5 millivolts, which can be changed depending on the desired output characteristic. The output current range is 4 to 20 milliamps with an external resistance rating of 400 Ohms or less. For current output, the resolution is 4 micro amps, which can also be changed to match requirements. The function block mounts on a 35-millimeter DIN rail. The mass of the block is 200 grams, and its dimensions are 90 x 43 x 87 millimeters. A dedicated cable connects the FX2N-2DA function block to the programmable controller or PLC. Different number of function blocks can be connected to different PLC models. The processing time of the FX2N-2DA special function block is 4 milliseconds per channel.
