The FX2N-2AD block is a Mitsubishi Electric function block designed for analog to digital signal conversion. It can convert analog input values to 12-bit digital values. After converting the signals, the FX2N-2AD block transmits these digital values to a PLC or programmable controller. A connection cable is used to connect the FX2N-2AD block to the PLC, and using a shielded cable is recommended for this connection and for all of the block’s cable connections. Shielded cables help the FX2N-2AD block meet the EMC directive. The analog cables should not be placed in the same trunking or conduit that is used for high voltages cables. Instead, the analog cables should be run separately when possible. The FX2N-2AD function block is compatible with multiple Mitsubishi controllers, including the Mitsubishi FX0N, FX2N, FX3G, FX3U, and the FX3UC series programmable controllers. The FX2N-2AD function block consumes 50 milliamps of current at a voltage rating of 24 Volts DC input. Its dielectric withstand voltage rating is 500 Volts AC for 1 minute. The FX2N-2AD block is designed to occupy 8 I/O points. For voltage inputs, the integrated accuracy rating is +/-0.1 Volts. For current inputs, the integrated accuracy rating is +/-0.16 milliamps. The processing time for the FX2N-2AD block is approximately 2.5 milliseconds per channel. Mitsubishi has designed the block for mounting on a 35-millimeter DIN rail. The shipping weight of the block is 0.44 pounds (0.2 kilograms). The housing of the FX2N-2AD function block is open. Isolation is not provided between analog channels on the block. However, photo-coupler isolation is provided between digital and analog circuits.
