Mitsubishi's E610 human-machine interface (HMI) terminal is a graphic operator terminal with a touchscreen and a physical switch. It comes with 2 operation modes. The E610 operator terminal has a configuration mode where the basic settings of the terminal can be selected. These settings include printer settings and the menu language. The E610 operator terminal also has a run-time mode that it uses when it is running its application. Some of the Mitsubishi graphic operator terminals also support a programming mode, but the E610 terminal does not. The physical switch on the E610 operator terminal can be set in different positions to allow it to handle different functions. These functions include the terminal’s normal run mode for normal applications, the configuration mode for configuring the terminal, a self-test function, and a function that erases the clock memory. The E610 operator terminal has a real-time clock that can be set up when it is in its configuration mode. This terminal has an RS-485 port in addition to RS-422 and RS-232C ports. The E610 operator terminal is one of only a few Mitsubishi graphic operator terminals that includes an RS-485 port. It should be noted that only 2 of the E610 terminal’s ports can be used at one time when the terminal is operating. Up to 2 curves can be defined in the E610 operator terminal. This touchscreen operator terminal does not include a built-in physical keyboard. The E610 operator terminal supports finger-activated touch commands that are activated by touches that last longer than 30 ms. The touchscreen should only be pressed at 1 area at a time to avoid errors.
