The AI61 is a Mitsubishi interruption input unit (DC input) for MELSEC-A series programmable controllers. The unit has 16 interruption input points and 32 I/O occupying points. At 12 Volts DC input voltage, the input current is 6 milliamps and at 24 Volts DC input voltage, the input current is 14 milliamps. The operating voltage range for the AI61 unit is 10.2 to 26.4 Volts DC. All 16 input points on the AI61 unit can be ON simultaneously. The ON voltage rating is 9 Volts or higher, and the ON current rating is 4.5 milliamps or higher. The OFF voltage rating is 6 Volts or lower. The input resistance of each input is approximately 2.4 kiloohms. The ON to OFF state response time is less than or equal to 0.2 milliseconds. The OFF to ON state response time is less than or equal to 0.2 milliseconds. The typical internal current consumption at 5 Volts DC, with all the supported points in the ON state, is 14 milliamps. An LED indicator on the AI61 interruption unit indicates when the unit is on. The weight of the AI61 interrupting unit is 0.4 kilograms. Mitsubishi recommends wire with a 0.75 to 2 mm2 cross sectional area. The applicable tightening torque is 7 kg-cm. The AI61 unit must be protected from impacts and shock. The printed circuit board for the AI61 unit must not be removed from its case. The AI61 unit’s ambient temperature range for operation is 0 and 55 degrees Celsius. The dielectric withstand voltage rating of the AI61 unit is 500 Volts AC for 60 seconds.
