The Mitsubishi AG62 dummy module is part of the MELSEC-A series. It can be used to construct a complete MELSEC-A controller system, and it can be installed in an extension base unit in the controller system. The AG62 dummy module is one of several types of modules that can be mounted on a MELSEC-A extension base unit, and its purpose is to protect the slot that it is installed in from dirt, dust, and debris. If a MELSEC-A controller system has an extension base unit that does not need to host active modules in all of its slots, then dummy modules like the AG62 dummy module must be installed in all of the unused slots. Without the AG62 dummy module, an empty slot could become damaged by dirt and other particles. The AG62 dummy module should remain in its slot until a different module is used to replace it. The AG62 dummy module is compatible with Mitsubishi QA65B and Mitsubishi QA68B extension base units. When the AG62 dummy module is installed, it should not be dropped or subjected to strong impacts that could damage it or damage its casing or connectors. This module should be installed with the correct screw torque. It supports a tightening torque range of 78 to 118 N-cm with M4 fixing screws. The AG62 dummy module can protect the slot and the module connectors that it covers from small amounts of moisture, but it should not be subjected to large quantities of water or other fluids which could damage it and its slot and connectors.
