The Mitsubishi A68B unit is an extension bottom plate or extension base unit. It is an essential component in modern Mitsubishi MELSEC-A control and automation systems that handle advanced applications. The A68B base unit is intended to facilitate application processes in a manner that is both streamlined and dependable. The A68B base unit has eight slots which are used for hosting up to eight additional modules in a MELSEC-A system. This bottom plate or base unit allows a standard MELSEC-A system to be expanded with additional hardware modules. Expanding the system allows it to control a larger number and wider variety of applications. Some of the modules that are compatible with the A68B extension base unit include positioning modules, counter modules, converter modules, interface modules, communication modules, input modules, and output modules. This base unit can host a single-axis positioning module to control 1 axis in a MELSEC-A system. The A68B base unit can support high-speed converter modules for high-speed conversion and it supports A-D, D-A, and A-D/D-A converter modules. This base unit can also host a memory card or a parallel interface module. It can host an Etherent interface module. The A68B base unit can also support a power supply module. This base unit needs a power supply module if it is used in a system where the voltage rating at the receiving end in the system is less than 4.75 Volts. All of the modules installed on the A68B base unit need a clearance of at least 80 millimeters or 3.15 inches above them for ventilation.
