The A1SX42-S1 is a 64-channel digital input module from Mitsubishi Electric. The module uses a photocoupler isolation method. The rated input voltage for the digital input channels is 24 volts DC. The rated input current is approximately 5 milliamps. The operating voltage range is 19.2 to 26.4 Volts DC with less than 5% ripple. Up to 50% of the input points can be on at the same time. The ON voltage rating is 18.5 Volts DC or higher and the ON current rating is 3.5 milliamps or higher. The OFF voltage rating is 3 Volts DC or lower and the OFF current rating is 1.7 milliamps or lower. The input resistance rating for each digital input is approximately 4.7 kiloohms. The OFF to ON transition response time is 10 milliseconds or less. The ON to OFF response time is 10 milliseconds or less. An LED on the A1SX42-S1 module indicates when it is operating. In addition, a 32-bit indication option is selectable with a switch. The I/O module has a 40-pin connector for external connections. Mitsubishi recommends a wire size 0.099 to 0.3 mm2 for the connections to the module. The module requires a 5 Volts DC supply, and its current consumption rating is 0.09 Amps at 5 Volts DC. The height of the I/O module is 130 millimeters (5.12 inches), its width is 34.5 millimeters (1.36 inches), and its depth is 93.6 millimeters (3.69 inches). The depth increases to 117.6 millimeters (4.63 inches) when a connector is attacked. The approximate weight of the A1SX42-S1 digital I/O module is 0.28 kilograms.
