Metasys DX
Johnson Controls developed the Metasys DX series of digital plant controllers and LCD displays for use in a variety of applications such as HVAC, lighting, and security applications. Some DX series digital controllers support LonWorks features and peer-to-peer communication, allowing for centralized control and monitoring in building automation systems. They can also be used locally without requiring a network connection. Furthermore, these DX series controllers have a graphical user interface that makes monitoring and controlling the devices to which they are connected easy. The user interface of a DX controller can be customized to display the most important information to the user. The LCD displays in the DX series can operate with either 24 Volts AC of supply voltage, +15% to -10%, or with 9 to 18 Volts DC of supply voltage from a DC power supply with an AC adapter. These LCD displays consume 4 VA of power at 24 Volts AC and 2 VA of power with a DC power supply. The DX series LCD displays come with 256K bytes of flash memory. They can operate at temperatures between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius, and they can be stored at temperatures between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius. The DX series LCD displays have screens with areas of 4.3 x 2.4 inches and resolutions of 240 x 180 pixels, and they include sealed membrane types of touch keypads with 8 keys. Different versions of the DX series digital plant controllers are available in the DX-9100 product line. Version 1 controllers in the DX-9100 product line can provide 8 output modules, and Version 2 controllers can provide 6 additional output modules.
