The PLC I/O modules are input and output modules that have been designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc to be used for communication and data transmission applications in industrial programmable logic controllers or PLCs. The PLC I/O modules are key components in their host PLCs because they make it possible for the PLCs to communicate with a variety of other devices in the system or factory. Although these I/O modules are suitable for use with a wide variety of GE PLC systems, they are best suited for I/O applications in the GE Genius I/O series PLCs and the GE Field Control series PLCs. It is important to ensure that the PLC I/O modules and their host systems are kept away from significant sources of heat and that they are installed in suitable environments.

The GE Fanuc PLC I/O modules should never be inserted or removed under power because this can cause component damage, serious injury, or death. The standard operating temperature range for the PLC I/O modules is between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius or 32 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit while the standard storage temperature range is between -40 and 80 degrees Celsius or -40 and 176 degrees Fahrenheit. These input and output modules can tolerate relative humidity levels as high as 95% as long as there is no condensation. The PLC I/O modules should not be exposed to condensation or other forms of moisture, or to significant quantities of dust, dirt, debris, or corrosive substances, and they should not be used in outdoor environments or in hazardous indoor environments unless they have been certified and properly treated for special use in these kinds of environments.
