The Horner Electric HE693CPU701 PLC I/O Module with an Ethernet port is part of the Horner Automation APG product line of modular accessories that are compatible with GE Fanuc Series 90-30 or Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). It comes from the factory with 2 serial ports, one with 9 terminal points and the other with 15 terminal points. Additionally, the Horner Electric HE693CPU701 PLC I/O Module has a built-in RJ45 EtherNet connector that has been included in order to enable the module’s users to gain access to the PLC for remote control and monitoring functions. The module also comes with an embedded 63 MB Compact Flash memory unit that is known by the part number 46-164-64R, that allows the users to easily back up the logic programming data in order to restore the system in case of a power failure.

 

The Horner Electric HE693CPU701 PLC I/O Module with an Ethernet port has been constructed in an open style with plastic casing that has an environmental protection rating of IP 20. Even though the module is provided with its own ventilation fan, the manufacturer recommends that the module be installed inside a protective enclosure with the proper level of forced ventilation or with a compatible climate control system. The Horner Electric HE693CPU701 PLC I/O module has a built-in USB connector that is used for firmware update purposes. The 4 LEDs at the top and front side of the module are able to indicate several things about the device and its applications to the operators. Only authorized personnel should be allowed to perform installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting work on the module.
