Manufactured by GE Fanuc as part of the VersaMax family, the IC200PWR201 is a power supply module capable of providing electrical power to various backplane components such as network interface units (NIU), central processing units (CPU), and input and output (I/O) modules. Unlike several other VersaMax power supplies, the IC200PWR201 is not capable of extended power. This product is mainly used as a primary source of backplane power; however, it can also be mounted onto a booster carrier to serve as a secondary power source in larger applications.
The IC200PWR201 has a nominal operational direct current input voltage of 12 volts, but it can also accept voltages ranging anywhere from 9.6 volts to 15 volts. The input power for this module is 11 watts. Holdup time, which is the amount of time a power supply unit can maintain a certain level of output during an input power loss, is 10 milliseconds. This product can use an output voltage of 3.3 volts and 5 volts of direct current.
The inrush current for this module can be either 25 or 30 amperes depending on input voltage setting. The output current for the IC200PWR201 cannot go higher than 1.5 amperes in total. If the 3.3 voltage output is selected, then the output current will be at most 0.25 amperes. The output current for the 1.5 output voltage setting will be 1.5 amperes minus the amount of current utilized by the 3.3 voltage setting. Output voltages are applied together.
The IC200PWR201 has several protection mechanisms in place, including overload safeguards, polarity reversal, and electronic short circuit protection.
