Product Description

The IC200PBI001 is Profibus-DP Network Interface Unit (NIU) that functions as a slave on a Profibus-DP network designed by GE for the VersaMax Series
. The IC200PBI001 acts as a controller for a set of I/O modules. The module operates off a provided power supply that installs directly onto the NIU.

The network address for the IC200PBI001 is 1 to 125 with a network data rate of 9.6Kbaud to 12Mbaud, auto-detected. There is a maximum of 375 bytes of I/O data with up to 244 byes of inputs or 244 bytes of outputs. The IC200PBI001 can control 64 I/O modules per NIU.

The IC200PBI001 is equipped with five LED indicators to help the user monitor power and status of the NIU. When power is applied, the PWR LED will be green. When the OK LED is green, firmware is functional. If the FAULT LED is amber, this suggests the NIU has found fault internally or in an I/O module. The NETWORK LED can be green, amber, or off depending on the following. If green, the I/O is successfully being transferred on the network. If the LED is amber, configuration sent by the master device was rejected. When the NETWORK LED is off, no communication is detected with the master device. The FORCE LED specifies the presence of any forced I/O value. This version of the IC200PBI001 Profibus NIU is compatible with all VersaMax High-Density Analog Modules.

The IC200PBI001 Profibus-DP Network Interface Unit or NIU is a product of GE Fanuc and it belongs to the VersaMax product family. It functions as a slave device on the Profibus-DP network, and it operates as a controller for a set of input and output modules. This module runs off of an externally provided power supply which is directly installed on it. The IC200PBI001 NIU has a network address of 1 to 125 with a 9.6 Kbaud to 12 Mbaud network data rate which is automatically detected. It features an all-out I/O data capacity of 375 bytes with inputs rated at up to 244 bytes or outputs rated at up to 244 bytes. This Network Interface Unit can control up to 64 inputs and outputs at a time.

The GE Fanuc IC200PBI001 Network Interface Unit features 5 LED indicators that help the operators to monitor the power as well as the NIU’s status. If the power is applied, the “PWR” LED indicator turns green and when the “OK” LED indicator is green, then it means the firmware is functional. When the “FAULT” LED indicator is amber, it means that the IC200PBI001 NIU has an internal fault. Additionally, the “NETWORK” LED indicator can glow amber or green or turn off. The green light indicates a successful transfer of I/O data on the network. The amber light means that the configuration sent by the master device is rejected. When the “NETWORK” LED indicator turns off, it means there is no communication with the master device. Additionally, there is a “FORCE” LED indicator which specifies the presence of forced input and output values. The IC200PBI001 Profibus NIU is well matched with all the VersaMax high-density analog modules.
