IC200MDL243 is a VersaMax 120 VAC Discrete Input Module with 16 points. This particular module provides 16 isolated inputs that are positive logic or of the sourcing type. These inputs receive current from AC input devices while the return current is on the common. Each input has an individual and separate return. To power the IC200MDL243, the operation originates in the backplane. The CPU or NIU is the supplier of intelligent processing for the input module. LEDs are standard and display both backplane power and on/off state for each input point.
Isolation of user input to logic and frame ground is 250 VAC continuous or 1500 VAC for one minute with input voltage of 120 VAC nominal or 0 to 132 VAC. On and off state voltage is 70 to 132 VAC and 0 to 20 VAC, respectively, with on and off state current at 5mA minimum and 2.5mA maximum. This module has input impedance of 8.6k Ohms at 60HZ and 10.32k Ohms at 50Hz, both typical.
When installing the IC200MDL243, the user should first check all components for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. If any part of the component is damaged, it should be replaced as damage could affect overall unit performance. The installer should note that no derating is needed for the 16 point modules if mounted vertically (A, B) on the DIN rail. Other forms of mounting will require derating at 132 VAC if mounted horizontally. If hot insertion is done incorrectly, other modules on the backplane can be negatively affected, so proper procedures should be closely followed.
