Product Description

Manufactured by General Electric Automation, the VersaMax IC200MDD848 is a discrete input/output module with 16 points.
Input and output points are split into two separate groups, each holding eight points. Inputs can be sourcing-type or positive logic. This product supports channel-to-channel isolation for each discrete output point. In addition, this product has the following protection mechanisms for each output point: snubbers and metal oxide varistors (MOVs). Diagnostics are not provided; however, each input and output point are mapped to a status LED.

While this device is powered by the rack-mounted backplane, an external power supply of 120 volts of alternating current will be needed for any switches that provide power to the loads. The load current for each input and output point is rated at a minimum of 10 milliamps and a maximum of .5 amperes. The load current for a single 20 millisecond cycle at maximum inrush is 5 amperes. The IC200MDD848 consumes a maximum of 125 milliamps from a 5v backplane. When installing the wiring for this device and configuring the outputs for inductive loads, external suppression circuits are advised.

The IC200MDD848 supports thermal derating, and various combinations are possible. The total number of simultaneously active points depends on different factors such as the surrounding temperature, external voltage, and the physical position of the DIN rail and the device itself. At low temperatures, all input and output point combinations are possible.

Not counting the carrier base and the mating connectors, this product is 110mm (4.3 in) wide, 66.8mm (2.63 in) tall, and 50mm (1.956 in) deep.
