The IC200CHS015 is a Spring-Style Interposing I/O Terminal that provides an interface to a Connector-Style I/O Carrier to field wiring. It is manufactured by GE Fanuc for the Versamax series. The IC200CHS015 comes with a connector that is used to attach a cable from the connector-style I/O carrier and 36 spring-clamp style terminals.
This unit features a transparent protective hinged door that covers the wiring terminals. Each I/O module is provided with a foldable board that can be inserted in this door. One or more auxiliary I/O terminal strips can be added to provide extra field wiring connections if needed. Auxiliary I/O terminal strips insert directly into the lower edge of the IC200CHS015.
During installation, the user can opt to either mount the interposing I/O terminals on the same DIN rail as the connector-style I/O carrier or on a separate DIN rail. Interposing I/O terminals should be mounted on specialized panels for those particular applications that require maximum resistance to mechanical vibration and shock. Steel DIN rail is recommended. The DIN rail used to install the IC200CHS015 must be electrically grounded to provide electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protection. The rail must have a conductive corrosion resistant finish, preferably one that is not painted. For vibration resistance, the DIN rail should be installed on a panel using screws spaced approximately 6 inches (5.24 cm) apart. It is also advisable to install DIN-rail clamps on both ends of the station to ensure correct positioning.
