Product Description
IC200CHS005 is a Spring-Style I/O Carrier manufactured by Ge Fanuc for its VersaMmax series. The IC200CHS005 is comprised of 36 spring-clamp style terminals tasked with field wiring. The carrier provides backplane communications and field wiring for one input/output module.
The IC200CHS005 snaps easily onto a 7.5 mm x 35 mm DIN rail. It is advisable to electrically ground the DIN rail; this provides electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The rail must have a conductive corrosion resistant finish, preferably unpainted. Some applications require maximum resistance for shock and mechanical vibration; in such instances, the IC200CHS005 must be panel-mounted.
Other features of IC200CHS005 include its ability to support a maximum of 32 input/output points and four shared power connections; a set of keying controls that makes installation of the right type of module on this carrier easy; keys that are easily set to match the controls at the bottom of the module; a module latch hole that securely fastens the module to the carrier; a protective hinged door used to cover the wiring terminals; a printed wiring card for each input/output module; and notches on the lower edge for attaching an auxiliary input output terminal strip for additional bussed connection points.
In general, the connection of field wiring to each terminal accommodates one solid or stranded AWG of 14 to AWG of 22 or two wires up to AWG of18. The IC200CHS005 can take maximum current levels of 8Amps per each power and ground or 2Amps per point and a voltage range of up to 264 Volts AC. This carrier cannot be damaged by power surges of up to 300 Volts AC. Additional auxiliary input-output terminal strips can be added to provide extra field wiring connections when necessary. Auxiliary I/O terminal strips attach directly into the lower edge of the input/output carrier.
