Product Description

The IC200ALG431 is a 12-Bit, 4-Channel / 2-Channel Input / Output Analog Mixed module from the GE Fanuc Versamax Series.
This module provides four 0 to +10 VDC analog inputs and two 0 to +10 VDC analog outputs. This module has outputs that require an external power supply of 24 Volts. For inputs, power for the user’s transceivers must be supplied from an external source.

The unit’s CPU/NIU takes care of all intelligent processing. The IC200ALG431 provides four words of analog input data and receives two words of analog output data. The LED indicator turns green when backplane power is available. The IC200ALG431 reports a loss of user side power errors for field-side circuits.

The IC200ALG431 is easily set up with a jumper that enables the outputs to either hold their last states or default to 0 Volts if backplane power/communications are interrupted or if the PLC is stopped. Outputs remain in their default/last state until the module receives different output data from the backplane or until field power is terminated. Typically a jumper on this module can be used to select the output default mode.

Use of shielded twisted pair cable for all the analog channel connections is highly recommended. It is also important to ground the input channel connections at the source device. Alternatively, the cable shield must be grounded at the I/O module. In situations where IC200ALG431 is installed either on a terminal-style I/O carrier or a compact terminal-style I/O carrier, the cable shield can be connected directly to the carrier.

The GE Fanuc IC200ALG431 VersaMax Analog Mixed I/O Module is a 6-channel mixed analog I/O module that is available from the GE Fanuc VersaMax Control system. This module provides four 0 to 10 Volts DC rated analog input circuits and two 0 to 10 Volt DC rated analog output circuits. The IC200ALG431 Analog Mixed I/O Module requires an external 24 Volts DC power supply to power all of its outputs, while a user-supplied transceiver powered by an external power source is required for all 4 inputs. All intelligent microprocessors are handled by either the CPU module or the Network Interface Unit (NIU), and this module is capable of handling up to 4 words of analog input and 2 words of analog output.

The IC200ALG431 Analog Mixed I/O Module comes with built-in diagnostics that automatically reports loss of user-side power fault for the field-side circuits to the CPU. It is configured with a jumper circuit that enables it to hold its last output states or default values (0 Volts) if the backplane power, communication, or the PLC itself stops abruptly. In this condition, the outputs will remain in their last state or default value until the field power is terminated or it receives a different output value from the backplane. The IC200ALG431 Analog Mixed I/O Module has 18 to 30 Volts DC of recommended voltage range for the external power supply, and it has a maximum backplane current draw rating of 60 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. It has 4 differential input channels with a 0 to +10 Volts DC operating range and a maximum accuracy of +/-0.5% at full scale. The IC200ALG431 Analog Mixed I/O Module has 2 single-ended outputs with a 0 to 10 Volts DC operating range and +/-0.5% maximum accuracy at full scale. It is installed on a terminal-style I/O carrier, and it comes with front side LED indicators.
