Product Description

Made by GE Intelligent Platforms, the IC200ALG240 is a VersaMax Analog Input Module.
This module is capable of processing input signals from a maximum of eight analog devices and providing data output at a resolution of 16 bits. The IC200ALG240 has two modes of operation: voltage mode and current mode. In voltage mode, the input range is 1 to 20 milliamps. In current mode, the input range is +/- 10 volts.

This module has eight isolated input channels, each of which has a current range of 4 to 20 milliamps. Additional features of this device include the ability to detect open wires, a converter resolution of 16 bits, and precise factory calibration. Certain features of the IC200ALG240 can also be configured and altered via software, such as changing alarm levels for individual channels, changing the default values for individual channels, and scaling individual channels. The update rate for channel data is 20mS at 50Hz filter frequency and 16.7mS at 60Hz filter frequency.

To monitor status for this module, diagnostic features and on-board LED lights are provided. Diagnostic reports on range status, field power loss, NVRAM faults, the presence of open wires, and more are available. The LED lights indicate module and power status.

The IC200ALG240 is 4.3 inches wide, or 110mm; 2.63 inches tall, or 66.8mm; and 1.956 inches deep, or 50mm. Note: These dimensions do not include the carrier or mating connector height. A 5V and a 3.3V connection backplane are used for this module, through which power is provided to the device. The 5V backplane consumes up to 15 milliamps of current, and the 3.3V backplane consumes up to 120 milliamps of current.

The IC200ALG240 Analog Input Module belongs to the GE Fanuc Versamax family of I/O modules. It has 8 analog inputs, 16 bits of resolution, +/-0.1% accuracy at 25 degrees Celsius, and 1500 Volts AC of isolation voltage. This module can be freely combined to build a standalone I/O station. It offers hot insertion capabilities and a quick, cost-effective wiring system. It does not require any special tools for extraction or installation. The IC200ALG240 Analog Input Module also offers a digital field input filter with programmable notches at 50 or 60 Hertz frequency. Its diagnostic facilities include high/low limit, open wire, loss of field power supply, and non-volatile memory fault diagnostics.

The IC200ALG240 Analog Input Module requires a separate power supply for isolated inputs in the current mode. It has 2 indicator LEDs that are the “FLD PWR” and “OK” LEDs. The “FLD PWR” LED shows the presence of backplane or field power to the analog field-side circuits. The green “OK” LED indicates the module’s status. The system CPU or NIU receives 8 words of analog input data from this analog input module. It does not have thermal derating. The main features of the IC200ALG240 Input Module include 16-bit converter resolution, high accuracy factory calibration, and open wire detection. The module operation can be done by connecting a 24 Volts DC power supply to terminals A1 to A18. Its default configuration is suitable to use in many applications. However, it must be software-configured before connecting to the I/O station or Versamax PLC system. It is calibrated at the factory.
