Product Description

The IC200ALG230 is an Analog Input Module manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation as part of the VersaMax series.
This module interfaces to either four voltage inputs or four current inputs. This device supports 12 bits of voltage per current and one group containing up to four single-ended channels. All inputs are also single-ended and share a common return.

This module receives power from a power supply embedded into the backplane. While an external power supply is not required for this analog input module to function, any user transceivers will require an external power supply. Five volts and a maximum of 125 milliamps of current is consumed by the backplane. Default bipolar input voltage is +/- 10 volts DC with unipolar voltage being anywhere from 0 to 10 volts.

Two onboard LED lights indicate module power status: The OK LED indicates that the backplane is receiving power, and the INT PWR LED indicates that the analog field circuits are receiving power. This module can also report any loss of internal power.

To configure either voltage or current mode on the carrier terminals, two jumpers are used—one jumper for current mode and one jumper for voltage mode. In current mode, the range is anywhere from 4 to 20 milliamps. In voltage mode, the range is 0 to 10 volts. These jumpers are also used to configure either bipolar or unipolar operations while in voltage mode. Devices connected to each channel should be either voltage or current, not both. The IC200ALG230 supports field wiring on carriers with two and three rows of terminals.
