Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC200USB001 RS-232 Option Board is a serial communication option board for the 20-point, 40-point, and 64-point VersaMax Micro PLC Systems. This module provides the VersaMax Micro PLC system with RS-232 serial communication capabilities and with 2 extra analog input points. It also provides the VersaMax Micro 20, 40, and 64-point PLCs with enhanced functionalities. The IC200USB001 RS-232 Option Board is a member of the GE Fanuc VersaMax family of small programmable logic controllers that are designed for high-performance applications such as dispensing machines, packaging machines, and relay replacement applications. The IC200USB001 RS-232 Option Board is mounted on the front of the VersaMax Micro PLC and it can be configured by using the Machine Edition software. 

 

When it is installed and configured properly, the IC200USB001 RS-232 Option Board can support the Modbus Master/Slave, Serial Read/Write, and the SNP/SNPX Master/Slave communication protocols. It can also be used as Port 2 on the Micro PLC and the communication protocols can be set in the configuration software on the CPU. The IC200USB001 RS-232 Option Board power requirement is derived from the backplane, and it draws a maximum of 200 milliamps backplane current at 5 Volts DC. It can also be configured to provide analog inputs with the following characteristics: a 0 to 10 Volts DC input voltage range, 10-bit input resolution, +/-1% input accuracy, and up to 100 Kilo-Ohms of rated input impedance. The IC200USB001 RS-232 Option Board has a straight Type B connector for memory pack module, a self-power button, and a USB 2.0 port which provides the VersaMax Micro 20/40/60 PLCs with a USB capability for connecting to peripheral devices.
