The GE Fanuc IC697VAL134 Analog-to-Digital Converter Board is a microprocessor-based, electronic device which scans the inputs connected into it with a frequency rate of 40 kilohertz in order to perform the automatic digitization of the received signals with a preset 12-bit resolution. This analog-to-digital converter is able to monitor up to 31 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels simultaneously with input voltage ranges from +/-50 mV or from +/-10V DC. The GE Fanuc IC697VAL134 Analog-to-Digital Converter does not need any type of software pre-configuration before startup because it is a plug and play device that will start working right out of the box. The only adjustment needed from the users is the setting of the ADC gain, which can be selected by using jumpers with ratings of x1, x10, and x100.
The GE Fanuc IC697VAL134 Analog-to-Digital Converter Board has been built with an open style construction which has an IP 20 environmental protection rating. This means that it is strongly recommended that the users install this electronic board inside a protective enclosure, away from dirt, humidity, or any other sources of contamination which may pollute the internal circuits of the device. The operating temperature of the GE Fanuc IC697VAL134 Analog-to-Digital Converter Board should be maintained between -25 and +70 degrees Celsius (-13 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit). For applications in hotter or colder environments, a correctly rated climate control system or forced ventilation system may be required. Any necessary repair operations should only be performed by certified technicians.
The IC697VAL134 module is an input module from the IC697 module series manufactured by GE Fanuc. The front section of the input module has 32 total input channels. The module has a built in test and screw terminal interface. This input module used to control a wide variety of industrial application processes. The module has been designed to be operated in a Class 1 Division 2 rated industrial environment with temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. This isolated scanning module has a resolution of 12 bits. The IC697VAL134 input module is based on an open architecture design and it features the VME bus standard. It is mostly used for critical applications and redundant systems. It supports different communication protocols including the Ethernet/IP, LAN, and serial communication protocols.
The IC697VAL134 analog to digital converter module comes with an analog input voltage range between 0 to 10 Volts and 0 to 100 mV. The isolation from the input to the backplane is 1500 Volts RMS. The IC697VAL134 module has an impedance of 10 Mohm minimum with line to line and line to common. The input module is ±0.04% accurate with 2.0 mV. The IC697VAL134 module is equipped with 32-pin DIN 41 612, VG, and ICE serial connectors for internal communication. The module draws 2.5 Amps from the 5 Volts bus. The input module provides input over voltage protection as a safety measure. The front side of the module has a “fail” LED that glows red for failed events. The module should be stored in a clean environment that is free from EMC noise.
