Product Description

The IC697MDL251 Input Module is designed by GE Fanuc for the series 90-70.
The IC697MDL251 module features 16 points, consisting of four isolated groups of four points each. Each group can be used on a different phase of the AC supply due to the groups’ isolation.
The IC697MDL251 module is automatically programmed to guarantee replacement with a comparable type in the field. The 16-point module is compatible with a range of input devices that includes pushbuttons, limit and selector switches, and 2- and 3-wire proximity switches. There is a requirement of .35 amps via the 5-volt bus located on the backplane.

Each IC697MDL251 module is equipped with a mechanical key. The key stops any unintended switch of one module for another module in a specified slot. In case of a need to change a module’s location after the key latching process, the key can be removed by pushing it upward to unhook while removing it off the rail. Once the desired location is determined, the key and module can then be reinserted. Wiring for the IC697MDL251 module requires a wire from the power source to the input terminal for each of the four groups. Wire sizes #14 through #22 are acceptable for the detachable field wiring terminal board. The bundle of wires is secured to the terminal board by a cable tie that passes through a cleat, located in the lower corner of the board. When removing the board, power must be off.
