GE Fanuc IC697MDL240 is a Discrete Input Module with 16 isolated 120VAC input points and an input filter with a delay time of 20ms. This isolation allows connection between different AC supply phases and inputs. It has reactive input with characteristics of current-voltage supporting a variety of 2 or 3-wire proximity switches.
LEDs at the top indicate the ON and OFF state of the points on the PLC. IC697MDL240 has the feature of mechanical keying and allows configuration of I/O without using DIP switches or jumpers. Configuration is completed using the configuration function of the MS-DOS or Windows programming software running on Windows 95 or Windows NT over Ethernet TCP/IP or through the SNP port. The Programming Software configuration function is installed on the programming device.
Capacitive input circuitry permits low dissipation of heat, long life, and high reliability. Input current characteristics provide 10mA typically in the ON state, and can sink up to 4mA of leakage current in the OFF state to the input device.
The IC697MDL240 module draws .25A from the 5V bus present on the backplane. For proper substitution of module type, IC697MDL240 comes with the unique mechanical key with a fitting area. During the first installation, the mechanical key latches into the center rail on the backplane. During replacement, the previously fit key allows only similar module placement.
The field wiring terminal board is detachable. Two wires may be terminated on a lug if both wires are equal size. There is room for a bundle of 40 appropriately sized wires to be routed through the terminal.
