Produced by GE Automation, the IC697CPM925 is a single-slot PLC CPU capable of controlling industrial machinery in real-time. Communication with I/O and “smart option” modules is accomplished via a rack-mounted connection backplane. This device is configured by MS-DOS or by software applications running on legacy operating systems including Windows 95 and Windows NT.
The IC697CPM925 offers support for the following modules: discrete and analog I/O modules from the IC697 family, IC660 and IC661 I/O modules, and multiple coprocessor and communications modules.
To operate the IC697CPM925, use either the three-position RUN/STOP switch or attach a programmer and use programming software. Device configuration is possible by way of serial, parallel, or Ethernet interface. Device configuration is secured via passwords or a manual memory protect keyswitch. When using the memory protect keyswitch, be sure to use a parallel connected programmer linked to the Bus Transmitter module. To prevent overheating, a fan capable of 70 cubic feet per minute (CFM) is required.
